Wordle steals my heart, mind

I did a five minute sweep of my department's shared folder for copies of every press release, letter and speech I have written for our Board of Trustees or Superintendent this past school year.

I haven't added every document yet, but I couldn't resist once I discovered this amazing site. I expect this graphic to change once I insert all of my documents. I expect the biggest change will be in the medium sized words, but we'll have to see.

I'll add more on the subject in a later post.

Adventures in teaching online news writing

I began an experiment today in teaching two of the HCISD Communications Department co-op students the skills of writing for an Internet audience.

These two students have been great working throughout this year on various projects. They are seniors at Harlingen High School and Harlingen High School South. I expect both of them to excel through this short course, allowing them to start producing a lot of the written content for the Communications Department Website.
